NATALIE ROSS

One-Woman band Natalie Ross is a sassy and eccentric jailhouse-rockin`, Blues merchant who will have you salivating in your seat, well that`s if your not up `n` dancing already. Her finely crafted songs and recordings, all written, produced, arranged and performed by her ladyship, take household objects, an acoustic guitar and kooky vocal style to a surprisingly accessible sound.Natalie’s live performance brings new depths with her innovative use of technology. She converses an electrifying twist to homemade and DIY.

‘Shock to the system’ Natalie’s new download single has been aired on BBC6 music by Tom Robinson and aired on Kerrang fm by Alex Baker.

‘Me and Delilah’ Natalie’s debut solo download single has been aired for the 4th time on BBC 6music by Tom Robinson and Marc Riley.

Alex Baker of Kerrang Unsigned FM says these exact words about her:

"Imagine you`re a woman and your locked up in an all female prison, life sucks, apart from the fact that each day in the jailyard there`s this beautiful ice-blonde maiden in the corner tapping her foot and quietly singin`-a-toon...she sounds sad, but somehow life seems perfect again...put Natalie Ross`s CD on and this is how you`ll feel. It`s music that is blues laden, woeful, tender but somehow full of power. Excellent."

MATTHEW KILFORD

Matthew Kilford is a Swindon born singer/songwriter who currently resides in the relative serenity of the Oxfordshire countryside. With songs that highlight his extraordinary voice and skillful guitar playing, whilst retaining hooks and a unique songwriting slant, this is something far more magical than another acoustic troubadour furrowing his brow.

After a handful of powerful performances, Matthew is already creating a buzz on the live circuit having supported The Low Anthem in New York plus playing with Andy Yorke, Dawn Kinnard and Seth Lakeman.

He has crafted a set of tunes that possess echoes of Jeff Buckley, PJ Harvey and Joni Mitchell without actually sounding like any of them.

Autumn 2008 saw the release of his first four track E.P. entitled “House on the Hill", which was chosen for radio play on Tom Robinson`s BBC Introducing show, and Mojo`s "Church of Dave".

He also provided a highly acclaimed cover of Hank Williams` "Calling You" for the compilation album "Sacred Songs For Worrying Times", which sat comfortably alongside contributions from Richard Hawley, Noah and the Whale and David Arnold. Camden Crawl Review by Sic Magazine:

"I`m off to The Spread Eagle pub for some unspecified semi-acoustic stuff put on by Andy Ross ex of Food Records. Now, completely by chance, I see the performance of the weekend. Matthew Kilford. He is a soulful singer songwriter, but soulful in this case shall be taken to mean like John Martyn not (shudder) James Morrison. His voice is extraordianry, a rich instrument indeed."

POLLYLOVES

pollyloves is an unsigned UK modern folk singer songwriter who writes original and relevant songs and delivers them live with attitude and a voice that will blow you away.

In the beginning she kept her musical ambitions to herself even though she had been writing songs on her dad’s 12-string guitar since school. She pursued an academic route and although she acted and sang in stage productions at Cardiff University, she graduated in 2002 with a degree in Journalism having never played a live gig.

Determined to change that, pollyloves headed for London where she pursued a career in public relations which helped fund her first studio recordings. With her demo in hand, steely determination to sing her songs and growing networking skills she was soon landing gigs in London`s top acoustic venues including The Gardening Club, Halfmoon and Clapham Grand, even securing a live spot on ITV`s This Morning.

THE CORONETTES

Estelle`s sultry vocals + Andy`s sublime guitar playing = bliss

Ever hear a song and wonder what it would sound like arranged for a kazoo quartet? Neither do we, but we do wonder what it would sound like arranged for guitar and vocals and played in a slightly different style to that of the original.

Sourced from over five decades of popular music, the songs we play are hand picked from a wide variety of genres and artists. Each tune is disassembled into its’ core elements, before being lovingly reconstructed and rearranged into a style that could be anything from laid-back lounge to toe-tapping sing-alongs. Some are done in earnest, while others have a tongue firmly in cheek and although a few don`t stray far from the original, most are quite a departure. In every case, it`s not about imposing a style upon a song, more the song imposing itself on a style.
