Hit and Run - Bishops Cleeve

Police want to trace a motorist who collided with a disabled woman in Bishops Cleeve, throwing her to the floor.

The 26 year old was hit by a large, dark-coloured vehicle after getting off the bus at Bishops Drive on the morning of Thursday July 29.

She was crossing over near the junction with Two Hedges Road at around 9.45am when the car, which had long bonnet, came around the corner.

It hit her, throwing her onto the bonnet and then to the ground. She had almost crossed the road when the collision happened.

The woman was left with injuries to her right ankle, knee and thigh. Although she did not need hospital treatment she was very shaken.

A local resident came to help and then contacted the woman`s mother. An officer also went to their home to check on her welfare.

The driver - believed to be a balding, white man in his 50s - stopped briefly but gave no details before leaving.

Gloucestershire Police would like this man or anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

They would also like to speak with a woman who drove a light blue car around his vehicle immediately after the collision.

Anyone with information, is asked to call Gloucestershire police on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident no. 263 of July 29.

Alternatively they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
