Black Soul Strangers
Definitions of the word Haunting include unforgettable, lasting, and continually recurring to the mind and so it was with careful reflection that Irish quartet Black Soul Strangers chose this as their latest single.
Released March 15th on Squeek Records, the evocative piece of musical soul searching was written by the band whilst growing up in a run-down area of west Dublin as they watched most of the people they grew up with fade away into drugs or alcohol. Front man Barry Gorey, who wrote the lyrics to the track said:
`It was during this time that my father suddenly passed away. This was when the idea of slowly crafting songs went out the window, and everything just poured out of me

"An absolutely brilliant Swedish debutant"
Hultsfredsfestivalen
"Birgit Bidder; phenomenal songwriter, pianist and singer proud and strong, with an irresistible crunch."
Pelle Moeld (P3 Lab Radio)
Swedish orchestral pop starlet Birgit Bidder recently convinced a relative to front the funds required for her to enter the recording studio (or, to be more accurate, a "rebuilt barn") with her band and producer Jari Haapalainen (Camera Obscura, Ed Harcourt). The result... `The Life Home`; her beautifully soulful, 11 track debut, an accomplished work that is sure to convince everybody else that she is worthy of investment.....the investment of attention!

Out on 23rd August on 7" vinyl and digital download, -Clockwatching- is the first single from London trio Belleruche`s upcoming third album, `270 Stories`, due for release in October.
With driving drums and chasing bass, off kilter bleeps and doo wop vocals, the new style of -Clockwatching- ties together all that is distinctive about the Belleruche sound that we know and love, with the fresh addition of layered harmonies from singer Kathrin deBoer, skirting the line between sugary and spiky, and a melodic interplay between vocals and bassline that makes for a dynamic take on a classic song form.
